The date is January 7, 2019, 50 kilometres south of Tripoli, a city on the Libyan coast. Two T-62 tanks come into contact.
The camouflaged T-62 approaching them has gone unnoticed by the opposing tank crew.
The tank gunner targets the stationary T-62 with artillery assistance. The shells do not strike the tank, which is taking matters into its own hands with improved sights and rangefinders.
It's a direct hit; the enemy T-62's ammunition rack is on fire, and the blast has killed both members of the resting crew.
The smouldering T-62 is left to its fate as the Contempt crew scuttles away.
With more than 20,000 of these tanks built, T-62 vs. T-62 incidents are common, particularly in Middle Eastern and African nations.
